Getting help quickly for stroke — the second-leading cause of death worldwide — is more important than anything else you may be doing or have planned because time can make all the difference.
Today, even the most severe cases of stroke can be interrupted, if they are treated fast enough. This makes getting to the hospital when stroke symptoms are first noticed a top priority.
Still, many stroke victims will ignore the symptoms and make up excuses to avoid a trip to the emergency room.
Below, are actual excuses have given for why they delayed getting care:
“I thought I pulled a muscle…”
“Didn’t have insurance…”
“Had a hair appointment…”
“Was watching the game…”
“I was re-balancing my energy field…”
Don’t ignore the signs of a stroke. Getting immediate care is more important than anything else you may be doing.”
