Bloodborne Pathogens


 

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. ?This course is meets?Occupational Safety and Health Administrations (OSHA) requirements for blood bourne pathogens when paired with site-specific instruction.*

Designed?for anyone with a reasonable chance for occupational exposure in workplace settings such as industry and manufacturing, Fortune 1500 companies, occupational health, property management, hospitality, security, and health and fitness staff.

BBP is also ideal for employees needing to meet additional state regulations such as childcare workers, school personnel, maintenance workers, tattoo artists, state corrections facilities.

Topics covered include:

  • What bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread
  • Protection from exposure and how to act if exposed
  • How to clean up after exposure
  • How to tell or report any exposure

No skills assessment is required. ?An optional written exam is available. ?Students who successfully finish the class will be presented with a course completion card, valid for 1 year.

This course is also available online as an eLearning module.*
