Heartsaver CPR/AED is for anyone with limited or no medical training who want to learn CPR. ?A course completion card is available to individuals who need one to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.**? This course is ideal for coaches, scouting leaders, workplace first responders, non-medical home health care workers, and others.
This course combines instruction of basic CPR skills with practice in using an AED.? It is available in traditional and blended class formats.
Traditional courses are video-based classes led by certified instructors in a classroom setting.? Blended classes use online programs and skill sessions for those who prefer a non-classroom method of learning.? (Click here to learn more about these options.)
Topics covered include:
- Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
- ?Adult CPR and AED use
- Optional modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking
- Optional written test
First Aid is not taught in this course
Skills are taught by combining live and video demonstrations with hands on practice.? Classes are led by certified instructors who have real life experience.? Students who successfully complete the skills assessment and multiple choice exam, will receive a course completion card valid for 2 years.
